Ireland’s most renowned jazz composer brings his experience of writing for both classical and jazz formats to bear in this new improvising chamber group featuring the talents of the Swiss jazz singer Sarah Buechi and the Japanese contemporary classical pianist Izumi Kimura. Over the past twenty years the lines between jazz and contemporary composed music have blurred, opening up new possibilities for both musics to find fresh inspiration and break fertile new ground. Trilogue exploits these new possibilities to the full, utilising the virtuosity of all three players and their wide experience of both improvised and composed chamber music. With a repertoire of newly composed pieces by Ronan for the group, Trilogue’s music covers a wider range of timbres, moods and dynamics than is usually heard in jazz or classical music – true contemporary creative music for the musical times we live in. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Irlands berühmtester Jazz Komponist hat in seiner langjährigen Tätigkeit immer wieder für Klassische- als auch für Jazz-Formationen komponiert. Diese Erfahrungen bringt er nun in die neue Improvisations- und Kammermusik mit den talentierten Musikerinnen Sarah Buechi (Jazzsängerin, Schweiz) und Izumi Kimura (zeitgenössische Konzertpianistin, Japan). Seit den letzten zwanzig Jahren haben sich zeitgenössische, klassische Musik und Jazz immer wieder berühren, bereichern und inspirieren dürfen. TRILOGUE schöpft in diesem abenteuerlichen Genre aus dem Vollen. Mit Virtuosität und Geschicklichkeit meistern die drei versierten Musiker Komposition und Improvisation. Mit den von Ronan neu komponierten Stücken für diese Formation zeigt TRILOGUE eine Palette von grösserer Vielfalt an Klangfarbe, Stimmung und Dynamik als Jazz oder klassische Musik alleine aufzuzeigen vermögen – echte zeitgenössische Musik.
