The Blues Down Under Concert Series was created and developed by partners Monte Lorts and Tom Morris to help keep the blues alive; and to bring national talent into Springfield, MO. throughout the year. They work to bring back favorite artists, and to introduce new and upcoming acts they discover at the International Blues Competition and at other festivals around the country.
The series began in the lower level of the Shine Mosque, and is currently housed at Archie's or Cartoons Oyster Bar & Grille. It was, and continues to be, a "grass roots" movement that has created loyal fans and an atmosphere of friendship and mutal appreciation for contemporary blues music.
