Bio

CORNCROW are Kim Guy and Steve Hunt.

Corncrow’s distinctive approach to (mainly) traditional songs and tunes has led to their inclusion on four highly regarded UK folk compilation albums and an impressive list of festival and club appearances, without undue hype or hullaballoo. They are the resident act at Liskeard’s Barley Folk venue.

"I reckon they’re going to go places, because I really like their stuff!" Mike Harding. BBC Radio 2

The seven tracks on “Sweet Nightingale,” reveal many of the duo’s experiences and influences, with discernible elements of Cornish social harmony singing & processional calendar customs, Breton fest noz, English traditional ballads & morris dance, and American old-time folk music. Kim and Steve play a variety of acoustic instruments including guitar, bouzouki, recorder, crowdy crawn and dulcimer, while Jackie Oates and Jason Steel make cameo appearances, on viola and banjo, respectively.
