Kerrie Lynch
Kerrie Lynch is a 23 year old singer songwriter from South Queensferry near Edinburgh. She has been playing guitar since she was 13 and has been writing songs since her time at high school. Since studying modern musicianship at college Kerrie has recorded her "Follow The Light E.P" at a home studio in Fife(Scotland) where she has "acoustified" and re-recorded tracks that she wrote during her time in a band at college and has written many more since.......
Kerrie has grown up listening to an array of music, mainly from the "britrock" era, but has been incredibly influenced by the Stereophonics and Snow Patrol,who she has been going to see live for years. She feels that the emotional sound/lyrics of Snow Patrol and the "storylike" lyrics from Kelly Jones are the perfect cocktail and biggest influence/inspiration she has had to develop her own music and sound since she's started writing.....
Since completing her first E.P she has played the likes of Henry's Cellar Bar in Edinburgh and has been invited to the Oran Mor in Glasgow to play at their acoustic nights, which she thoroughly enjoys as its one of her favourite venues! Even though she is at the beginning of her career, she took a big step in January 2009 and lived out a dream by stepping on stage at the Glasgow Barrowlands all in aid of Marie Curie .....what a night!!!
Since then Kerrie has had some great support slots with the fantastic Edinburgh band The Debuts at Sneaky Pete's in Edinburgh, and the lovely Mark Morriss of Bluetones fame, at The GRV also in Edinburgh. She has many more gigs in the pipeline......... so stay tuned!
So far she's had some fantastic support along the way especially; Mike Dooley her photographer for snapping away at gigs, Suzie over at Pale Gallery, Shona for her musical stylings and helping Kerrie record her first E.P, Derek for his lovely logo, Richard for his printing and everyone who has got Kerrie gigs over the past year or so, she has met many great bands/artsits- its been good banter :-)
