Phyllis Chang is a 4th generation Korean American singer-songwriter from Los Angeles. She is best known for her warm sultry soothing vocals and contemporary pop/jazz songs. Phyllis has performed her originals pop/jazz songs and children’s music throughout Southern California, San Francisco, Oakland, Palo Alto, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, New Mexico, Las Vegas and New York. She has also had airplay in Los Angeles, Hawaii, Seattle, Illinois, Portugal, and Toronto, Canada. Phyllis began her musical journey as a self-taught musician in high school. It was her dream to become a songwriter and record her songs. In 1994 she started “Pinky Paws Productions” and began to record and produce her own music under her own record label. Since then Phyllis has recorded several CDs and continues to pursue her dream as an “indie artist.” In 2006, Phyllis started a second studio, “Be Studios” to enhance wellness and creativity and to encourage others to follow their dream as an artist/musician. Currently Phyllis is working on several music/art projects and plans to release her next CD the end of 2011. She is also performing her music and teaching singing privately to children and adults. Phyllis Chang is best known for her smooth-warm-sultry voice and her contemporary pop/jazz songs. She currently performs her original songs and pop/jazz standards at various venues throughout Southern California. Phyllis is a 4th generation native Los Angeles Korean American self-taught musician, singer-songwriter who began writing songs on guitar during her high school years. It was her dream to be a songwriter and record her own songs. In 1994, Phyllis started her own label and music project studio. She named it "Pinky Paws Productions" after one of her dogs. Since then she has recorded and produced three contemporary pop/jazz cds of her original music: (2007) "Never Alone" (2005/2002) "On a Carpet Ride" (1998) "Forgiveness" (2006)"Promise Me One Thing" (single), (1998)"Voice in the Dark" single (1998) Phyllis also released two children's cds, "Songs From the Heart" (1994) & "For The Love of My Dog" (1998), "Sing Along & Dance Along" (2005). Phyllis has performed throughout Southern California, San Francisco, Oakland, Seattle, Hawaii, Las Vegas, New York & New Mexico. Currently she performs in Southern California with her duo/trio/quartet/full-band. Currently Phyllis is performing with her band as well as teaching singing privately. She is also writing songs for her next cd release of her original songs. Phyllis's latest CD Release "Make Someone Happy!" (2009)are songs by other songwriters. She wanted to record a CD of "happy" songs as a reminder to be "happy" and "Make Someone Happy!"
