Phyllis Chang is best known for her smooth-warm-sultry voice and her contemporary pop/jazz songs. She currently performs her original songs and pop/jazz standards at various venues throughout Southern California.
Phyllis is a 4th generation native Los Angeles Korean American self-taught musician, singer-songwriter who began writing songs on guitar during her high school years. It was her dream to be a songwriter and record her own songs.
In 1994, Phyllis started her own label and music project studio. She named it "Pinky Paws Productions" after one of her dogs. Since then she has
recorded and produced three contemporary pop/jazz cds of her original music: (2007) "Never Alone" (2005/2002) "On a Carpet Ride" (1998) "Forgiveness" (2006)"Promise Me One Thing" (single), (1998)"Voice in the Dark" single (1998) Phyllis also released two children's cds, "Songs From the Heart" (1994) & "For The Love of My Dog" (1998), "Sing Along & Dance Along" (2005).
Phyllis has performed throughout Southern California, San Francisco, Oakland, Seattle, Hawaii, Las Vegas, New York & New Mexico. Currently she performs in Southern California with her duo/trio/quartet/full-band.
Currently Phyllis is performing with her band as well as teaching singing privately. She is also writing songs for her next cd release of her original songs. Phyllis's latest CD Release "Make Someone Happy!" (2009)are songs by other songwriters. She wanted to record a CD of "happy" songs as a reminder to be "happy" and "Make Someone Happy!" (Part of the proceeds of the CD sales will be donated to a local caregiver organization)
